When you're about half-way between the last line on the pen cartridge and
the tip of the pen. You'll know you're out of Byetta because the pen will
no longer allow you to reset it. I've found the best way to track this is
to keep the date I start a new pen on my refrigerator door so that I look at
it every time I grab my pen. Each pen is good for 30 days.

Hi Dianne,

No that's something you'll need to find your own method to keep track of your 30
day usage, the pen doesn't give you any signals so to speak in the way of a
message.

I store my pen in the box in the fridge and on the end of the box I write the
date I started using that particular pen/box. Like the pen I have now I started
on 7/15 so 30 days after that date I would no longer use that pen even if it
appeared there might be something left in it. I do this in following with the
guidelines of using it no more than 30 days then discarding it. I then begin
the next pen and date it in the same way on the date I start it. This works
well for me, we all probably have our ways of doing it but this seems to be the
simplest for me so I don't have to think too much, it's all written right there
and I'm reminded each time I remove the box from the fridge.
<!--more-->

Congratulations on changes in lowering of your sugars with Byetta! :)
Elizabeth

How can you tell when your nearing the end of the
pen? Is there a message that appears? I'm on
day 5 and am feeling great. My sugars are much better.
My appetite has slowed down. I do notice that Im more
tired and sleep very very well. But I'm not sure if it's
the Byetta or just plain tired.

TIA,
Dianne
