testing and numbers

Hi All~

I have been on Byetta for almost a year and my Endo has me test in
the mornings and then again 1 hour after a meal….
Off and on I have tested more just to see where my numbers are
going.

So I guess my question is what is "normal"? I know we are all
different, but what are realistic numbers for one and two hours after
you eat? What should be considered to high? My one hour numbers are
usually in the 80’s or 90’s, but sometimes higher, and when it’s
higher I feel like that’s really bad because it’s not below 100. So
what is a good average and what’s to high?

I have noticed in the last couple months that sometimes a few hours

after I have eaten, I have lows like in the 70’s. and my morning
numbers have been around 108 not 120-140 like they have been. That’s
all good right?

And when you test more often the average on your meter is so much
higher isn’t it? Do you all pay any attention to what the averages
are on your meter?

Thank you for your help~

Tami

*No. Not at all. Your FBS, and post-meal at one and two hours, and bedtime
numbers really have no relation to each other. *

*Because Byetta has helped me keep my numbers fairly consistent, I now tend
to just check my FBS. I just keep an eye on it in case it were to start
creeping up. As far as post-meal, I generally only check when I’m eating a
type of food I might not normally eat to see how it affects my numbers. I
pretty much know how the ‘routine’ foods I eat affect my BS so don’t tent to
test then. The exception is if I get shaky and suspect low BS, then I
    check.*

*I do have a interesting ‘number’ story that happened this morning that I
    will post separately.
