actos
Does anyone in this group take actos? If so, what is the lowest dose
prescribed, and does it have a history of increasing weight gain? thanks, Lanie

****I used to take actos with insulin a few weeks ago and tolerated it well
for a while. After a year or so I realized it was causing edema in my legs and
my doctor took me off of it. It definitely makes some people gain weight
and I believe it has recently been found to contribute to heart desease along
with Avandia. My sense is that Byetta and a small dose of metformin is a
safer way to go, if you can tolelrate the GI side effects, at least for me. We
are all different in how we respond to meds. Suzanne

Thanks for the input. I’m already on Byetta. 10 pen for 18 months. Also take
Metformin, and Prandin. Now Endo wants to add Actos. B G’s just keep
creeping up. Lanie
****Sounds hard. Well maybe it will help for a while …and you’ll be able
to get off of it when your numbers come down. Have you tried a very low
carb diet…that helps me when my numbers are high… Good luck with it.
