Newbie…with questions…
I have been on Byetta for 2 whole days now. I don’t have any nausea and
I am still feeling hungry. I don’t have the ‘full’ feeling. Should I
give it more time or what has been the time table to when you felt
nauseated or ‘full’?? Thanks! Dianne

*** I’ve been on Byetta for three weeks and three days and have already
transitioned to the ten pen because after two weeks the 5 pretty much stopped
working. I have never been nauseus on Byetta ( 56% in the initial trial were
not) but I did get mild headaches and a little shakiness. I also had a mild
appetite suppressing effect and still do, although it is subtle. I’m able to
stay on a diet and just don’t feel as hungry. Maybe the folks who are losing a
lot of weight are sick all the time. I lost an initial ten pounds and now I’m
aiming for one or two pounds a week because I’m doing the weight watchers
program. Not everybody benefits from a "full feeling either. Is it helping to
lower your blood sugar? Another thing to consider is the needle size. I
was using the baby needle for the first two weeks and going to a larger needle
helped. I also suspect that I didn’t properly prime my first needle. I
didn’t know it had to squirt in the air which I definitely managed to do with
my
10 mcg pen. Maybe you just aren’t getting enough of it into you for some
reason. Good luck figuring it out. It’s a great medicine for some of us.
