I can’t seem to find the link right now but I think I originally found it by

Bibi, the "package you wet" is called a FRIO wallet. There are several
diabetic travel coolers available. I use one called the Micro-Cooler which
uses a freezable gel pack that stays cold for 16 hours. Just do a Google
search for "diabetic travel case" or www.diabetesandmore.com has a pretty
good selection.

As for travel, if possible, take the original Rx label from your Byetta box
with you. As long as you won’t be over 77 degrees, you don’t even need
refrigeration and could just use the box it came in for transport. Put that
along with needles, alcohol swabs, and other supplies in a clear zip top bag
and inform the TSA agent you have medications prior to going through the
security checkpoint.

Have a fun trip! My 25th HS reunion is next summer. It seems like I just
graduated a couple years ago…

Bibi - I live in Houston so I understand the heat! I had no problems
whatsoever traveling with Byetta at Bush International Airport. I carried
a small lunchbag as my cooler. I put a "blue ice" pack inside and then
wrapped my pen in bubble wrap. I had room to add a healthy snack (cheese
and nuts). I put my needles, and cut out my prescription label and put it
in there, too. I also put my lancets in there. So, when it was time to
"declare" liquids, I told them my cooler had my diabetes medication inside.
They didn’t even bother to open it - just sent it through the scanner. No
problem at all. A lunchbag with a shoulder strap works great.

I have used the FRIO wallet and I’ve also taken a small cooler with ice and the
pen in a water proof bag. I carry the prescription label and a letter from my Dr
that the Byetta is medically necessary. I’ve never been questioned by Southwest
at Love Field in Dallas or on my return once I tell them it is medication.
There’s a great web site about traveling with Byetta. I can’t seem to find the

I have just booked a flight to Chicago for my High school reunion so I
will be flying on Southwest Airlines and need to know about restrictions
about flying with Byetta.

I do not trust that it would not over heat. I also need the info on the
package that you wet to keep cool as, I live in Texas, and with having
to get to the airport an hour ahead, I am afraid that it will get really

warm before I land, (I plan to carry it on)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. .
