Changing to 10

Hi everyone…. I am looking for some suggestions. I changed from 5
to 10 but the stomach ache and other bowel problems are giving me
fits. I am a teacher and leaving whenever I want to is not an option
to use the restroom. Is there anything that people have done to be
successful ? I was doing good on 5 and Endro wants me to try 10 (
this is the 2nd go around) so that I can get numbers under better
control. Numbers are way back up 240+ since the death of my dad
suddenly in 05/07. HELP ! I need to do something because between the
grief and the diabetes I am ready to climb a wall. Suggestions ???
Thanks

    Hi!
I have had the same stomach aches every morning and I am trying
different things. I found that drinking some diet ginger ale or even
some real Sprite or Coke seems to help a little. I am a school
counselor and I understand about often not being able to run to the
restroom!!! I was a teacher for 17 years and it is not easy to do
that! I have been eating some ginger snaps, but many suggested that I
try ginger capsules that you can find in a health food store. It’s the
summer so I can lay down with the nausea, but I have to find something
for the sick stomach before school starts again!!! I am going to go
and try the sea sickness bands and some have said that there are
patches now too. I am also going to try something like OTC Prilosec
and see if that works. If I find one that really works, I will let you
know! I have been on 10 mg. since January and I have a sick stomach
EVERY SINGLE DAY! I have lost 30 pounds with it - I am just not hungry

like I used to be. I sure hate for the doctor to take me off of it
because of the sick stomach, so I am trying to find ways to curb it!
Sorry for going on and on! It’s the educator in me! LOL! Let me know
if I can be any more help! You’re not alone!

Hello, I posted some of this before but I think that the makers of
Byetta made a dose schedule to work with the majority of patients and to
minimize how frequently one needs to inject.

However, some of us need to tailor the med to our individual needs.

After being on 10 twice daily for over 6 months, and sick as a dog the
whole time, I went back to 5 for a month long trip.

I felt SOOOO much better, but had less appetite suppression.

Now I’m on 5 in the AM and 10 dose at dinner. So, this allows me to have
an energetic day and at night I just lay down til the nausea from the 10
    eases.

You also could try taking a 5 dose 3 times a day . Ask your doc to help
you figure out a dose that not only works for your BG but that you can
    live a good life with.

Better to do that then to have to give up the med.

    Aloha, Marge

The patches would not be a good choice if you are driving or at work. They
    make you incredibly, got-to-go-to-bed sleepy.

    Hi,
I’m new to the group, and tried many of the more natural things before
calling the doctor and outright begging/asking for Compazine.
The Compazine(10mg) has taken the nausea away completely. As for the
bowel problems, after taking the Compazine I only had to take Immodium once.
I was extremely nauseated and unable to complete even a simple task,
which is unlike me. I never give in to nausea, but since taking Byetta, I’ve
never been so sick in my life. I can’t imagine teaching a class. You have my
most heartfelt sympathy and a big HUG.
I’ve been on the Compazine for about five days now and feel so good, I’m
thinking of beginning to wean myself off the Compazine to see whether or not
I’m past the "initial nausea" the drug caused me.
    Feel better soon,
    Nancy
