quick protein suggestions wanted & Net Carb question..
Soynuts would be another super easy protein to toss in a bag, grab and go….
I recently purchased a pkg. of soynuts that are nicely flavored but have been
roasted without oil, what a great quick take along protein for a snack or when I
make a wrap I sometimes like that crunch to add with it…. I have this thing
about crunchy things with a sandwich or wrap. lol Baby carrots, soynuts that
sort of thing, I imagine is has to do with the chip thing I ate in the past.
lol
Actually I guess tossing some IN the wrap might be tasty, also adding them to a
salad would be a nice bit of protein.
But to respond to your original, grab and go quick protein Soynuts not cooked in
oil are 11 carbs for 1/4 c. and 5 g. of fat, the fiber is 6 grams, protein is 10
grams. I’m not familiar with the Net carb thing, can someone explain how that
works, you minus out the fiber of 5 grams from the original carb count on the
pkg.? How does that work, I had never heard that then several years back I went
to a nutritionist and she mentioned that, but rather quickly so I didn’t quite
catch the why, then she moved on and I was given a different person to see and
they said, no that doesn’t matter, don’t confuse yourself.
So what’s really the truth in this that you’ve all been taught? I love to learn
things and I hear you all bring up net carb alot, regarding Dreamfields etc.,
still not quite familiar with how it works on Dreamfields either.

Any help on this would be most appreciated
If the soynut idea is of interest the brand is "Genisoy" Soy Nuts Old Hickory
Smoked, they also carry natural flavored and one or two others, it’s like a foil
pouch packaging. Genisoy uses no GMO products so that’s an added feature if
that’s something you find important in eating healthier, which I do.
Happened upon these in a regular grocery store but in the Organic Market section
of the store. If nothing else, they would probably be quite easy to find in your
local Co-op. I found the price to be very reasonable as well at $1.99.
Just some more ideas,
Elizabeth

Hi, Baz. My husband and I love the Mission Whole wheat, low carb wraps. They
are full of fiber, large enough to stuff full of veggies and turkey, ham or
just about anything, and taste delicious. I can’t remember off the top of my
head, but I think they have about 10 net carbs per wrap. No trans fat, whole
wheat, very healthy. We have one most everyday for lunch, and sometimes in
the evening for burritos. Yummy.

South beach has what it calls Vegetable Quiche Cups to Go. Want the recipe?
I have also wrapped cheese in ham and eaten that when I was in a hurry.
I have also used the whey powder. I get the one from wal-mart that is lowest in
carbs. If my BG is low enough I add 1/2 a banana OR frozen strawberries. That
works well for me if I am going to do my am walk right after breakfast. I
sometimes have added nutmeg, cinnamon and sweetener and had something that
