I find it a lot easier and less painful to poke blood samples from the arm..
either up near the elbow area or down closer to the wrist but never the
fingers.

OUCH!!!!!!!! I would hate that!
I really feel for little kids who have to go through that……
What do you all feel when your blood sugar gets too high?? I’ve had low
blood sugar for many years and I would feel light headed, dizzy and foggy…

Pam, I still can’t take Metformin in the morning. I guess I just need more
food in my stomach, because it doesn’t bother me at night at all. It’s very
strange. I wonder what’s in these drugs to make us feel so sick?
Also, since I’m just borderline, I don’t have to test anything yet…..do
you guys mean you have to stick that needle in your finger several times a
day? That must be awful after awhile. How often do you have to do it?? Does
Medicare cover that machine, whatever it’s called.

<< Also, since I’m just borderline, I don’t have to test anything

I would absolutely refuse to trust my health to a doctor that would
prescribe Byetta - or any other diabetic drug - even if you are not diabetic
- that does not require you to test your blood glucose at least twice a day
(fasting morning) and at bedtime. That is the absolute minimum.

It’s to stabalize my blood sugar…..
I’m very confused with this new Dr. so I really need to find out more.
I got very very sick and gained a lot of weight, then found out that I also
have a thyroid problem so just started on meds for that. The lyme disease has
made a complete mess of my body….I was always skinny…..very skinny…..and
constantly on the go, but since the lyme struck, I am in a lot of pain and it’s
hard for me to get around now…..one thing has led to another thing and now my
body is falling apart. I don’t see the Dr. for a month, but I’ll let ya all
know what happens then….

so far so good on it…….i do watch my diet and snacks much more than i used
to. i think it takes time for your body to adjust to the januvia so give it a
little time to turn your blood sugars around……………baz

Did he give you a place to start? If he told you to do something and then wants
to see you in a month to see if that is working it might be fine. In the mean
time don’t get scared just go to the libarary and read.
