Glyburide has several negative effects, including potential weight gain,
which is why I asked my Dr. to increase me from 5mcg to 10mcg Byetta and cut
my glyburide by half. I've been on the lower dose for a month now and still
doing fine. I last saw the Dr. on Friday but he didn't want to change my
meds right now as I'm scheduled to undergo knee repair surgery in two days
and he wanted to wait until after my recovery to see how my BG control goes.
(I'll be off my feet for at least a week and then only allowed to do light
activities for the next 4-6 weeks until fully recovered.) Talk to your Dr.
but since you're on such a low dose of glyburide already, I would think you
could probably cut it out and go to Byetta with no problems.
