sediment in pen

Hello everyone-I have been monitoring the chat group for a while-soaking up info
before I
started the Byetta-Today was the first day and the initial shot went well-I have
been on
Lantus for a year and used to be a nurse a very long time ago so giving an in
jection was
not a big deal for me-The problem was when I went to do the supper shot-there
was a
huge piece of sediment in the pen- I went over to CVS and the pharmacist gave me
a new
pen -no problem-went home and gave myself the second shot and ended up with
three
drops of blood in the pen, so I called the hotline-They went over my technique
and I
seemed to do everything correct-I did tell her that although the expiration date

was
August 2008 it did not have the updated info about storage at room
temperature-she had
no comment on that just that they would pay for a new pen but that the doctor
would have
to call in another script which made no sense to me so I will have to miss the
morning
shot-Has anyone else had the sediment problem? I know several of you have had
problems
with the blood. No nausea to report-I did put on the seabands this morning to
see if that
would work-all I got was a kind of head rush feeling until I ate breakfast-my
doctor has
said to wait 30 minutes after the shot to eat-Thanks for all the good tips you
all provide.
Patti.
