<description>Just my two cents worth......I see no way that a larger diameter needle
will make the Byetta work any better. What makes a difference is to
make sure you are getting the complete dose required. If anything
makes a difference, I have found that doing a five second count is
sometimes too short and when I remove the needle there is a drop on the
end of it. I have started doing a 10 second count, while holding
pressure on the button on the end of the pin and I get no more hanging
drop off the end of the needle when I remove it. I think each person
is different and requires a different dwell time.

<description>Sometimes, a kick in the butt is what we need. The endo is right, not only is
it our bodies, but it is the ONLY one we get (at least for now).

I was told 90 carbs a day. If you split them up to 30 per meal or even lower
to accomdadate the two small snacks most folks try to have, that really isn't a
lot for the day, especially if you try to eat according to the food pyramid.

Since a piece of fruit typically has 15 carbs, a slice of bread 18 carbs, you
can see how quickly that can add up.

Keeping a food diary is the perfect way to make sure you are reaching your
goals. it really opened my eyes!

Good Luck!

Well, do you remember about 2 months ago or something like that, there was a
thread where someone said that when they used LONGER needles the spit seemed
to work better? Well...I thought since i'm going to be trying harder, i'll
just ask for the bigger needles as well and get the most benefit.... This
morning, when i got ready for my first 10 shot...I got the needle out and
opened it up and OMG! It looked huge! but i thought well if it's going to
make it work better...I swabbed my tummy with alcohol ( that's a whole
'nother issue) and barely inserted the tip of the needle. OW!!!!!! It hurt!
So i took it off, threw it in the trash and got my comfy 31 gauge
needle....LOL....What a Wimp!!!! Now, what i want to know...Is anyone have
better results from the 29 gauge? If they are, i'll try it again...If not,
i'm sticking with the 31.

Also, I bought some sea bands. With the first 10 shot this morning, i
thought i felt just a twinge of nausea. Tonight, I was really nauseated and
finally gave up and took a phenergan which i hate to do because they make me
feel so &#34;loopy&#34;. Does anyone else notice more nausea in the evenings?
Could it be that there was more FAT in my meal? Although for lunch i had a
cheeseburger and 4 tater tots, and for supper i had a pot pie. Not very
diet conscious today was i? But i am keeping a food journal now and i think
it is going to help because i felt bad about have to write down what i ate.
Maybe it will be an incentive to stay on track. For the people who count
carbs here, what is your carb limit for the day? The dietician told me 1450
calories and 100+ carbs. That is WAY too many carbs for me. Well, i've
rambled, but i hope to here from y'all....I'll keep you posted if i'm able
to stick with it this time. Oh also she increased my Metformin to 1500mg a
day. So Nausea and the &#34;other&#34; end. Yippeee!!!!! lol....

<description>&#60;&#60; I'm always trying to increase my fiber without increasing the
carbs too much...how do you get your 25 grams of carbs usually? &#62;&#62;

My husband likes the Fiber One cereal (twigs). I am not much of a cereal eater.
The Nature's Own Double Fiber Wheat Bread has 5 g of fiber a slice -
and only 40 calories. So a turkey sandwich for lunch or PB sandwich
gives me 10 g in one meal. A cup of steamed broccoli has 4 g and I
usually eat a cup every night with my dinner. I eat nuts for either
my morning or afternoon snack - or both. Although nuts are high in
calories, the omega-3's and fiber still make it a good choice. I
normally eat an ounce a day. I add Fibersure (inulin) to things - 1
tsp has 5 g of fiber. It is grit-free and doesn't thicken or add
flavor to food. It is a natural vegetable fiber and you can bake
with it and add it to just about anything. Twice a day I add the
Crystal Light White Tea/Blueberry Flavor to my bottled water. I also
&lt;!--more--&gt;
add a tsp of the Fibersure - can't taste it - no flavor - no texture.
doing that twice a day gives me 10 more grams. You can add it to</description>

<description>I like Fiber One cereal. It looks sort of like twigs, but I make a
trail mix with about half cup of fiber one and a handful of peanuts or
other nuts, sometimes dried blueberries too. I rarely eat yogurt, but
I imagine it would be good on top of yogurt.

Fiber One has 14g of fiber per half cup and 0g sugar and only 1g fat.
Their website has info on other fiber sources too. www.fiberone.com
