Well thanks to all for the information. It appears that my pen was not
primed. Last night I got the clicking sounds and it seemed to have
worked. I had a slight metallic taste in my mouth but that was about
all. My BGL was at 125 which I have not seen in a while. This is an
awesome resource...again thanks to all.

I am a deaf person, so I never hear clicks, but I do feel them through the
pen. I use my index finger to push the plunger down, and use my thumb
around the base, and I always feel a couple of clicks when the plunger goes
down.

Yes there should be 3 clicking sounds when to inject the med under
the skin you can also feel it when holding the pen .and yes it smell
bad and you do not have to get your nose close to the needle to smell
it it's just there. This was a funny comment I read .

As the plunger inside the pen pushes the out the injection, you
should hear two to three very faint "clicks" as the internal
mechanisim works to move the plunger. I typically have a small
drop of fluid left when I remove the pen but don't worry about it.
If you're concerened, try holding to a count of 10 (instead of
the recommended 5) or else try to reset the pen before removing it
from your skin.

I've have been using byetta for over 3 months. I don't hear clicking sounds
when I take my injection. I am confident that the medication is being
dispensed...I've gone through 3 pens and I'm on my fourth.

I'm not so sure what the "clicking sound" is all about and I don't recall
reading any of Amylin literature referring to clicking sounds!

If I thought the pen was not dispensing medication, I would "waste" a dose
by depressing the plunger while holding the pen with needle attached into
the air over the kitchen sink. If you see medication stream out of the pen
needle, then the pen is most likely working properly.

Sometimes, after I inject the medication, there is a small drop that remains
on the pen needle. I spoke with my dr, who is confident I am getting the
full/proper dosage. My BG numbers also indicate this. As for feeling
<!--more-->
effects from the Byetta, I really don't feel anything different, other then
feeling full on smaller amounts of food. I only had nausea a couple of
times. Actually, I feel better then I have in a good while.

Hang in there, you'll get more comfortable.

I didnt get any clicking or sounds when I injected....this morning
was the third time the pen was used...(once to prine and two
injections) and based on the reply...I doubt that the meds entered
my body. I'll see how it progresses this evening...I'm supposed to
hear a clicking sound as I press the button...correct?
