new user with travel question

Was Rx’d Byetta 5 on Friday and began using it yesterday morning. Needle
phobia was the main thing holding me back from starting this earlier and the
only other option I was given was Exubera. I took the first two injections
in the thigh and this morning I did my abdomen. I hardly noticed it in
either location. The first time I didn’t eat until right at one hour after
the injection and the last two were within 15-30 minutes. I have yet to
feel any nausea but the first injection made me dizzy and I had a medicinal
taste in my mouth. Luckily I haven’t had any of the other symptoms yet but
wonder if they will come once I’m placed on 10 next month. I did notice
that my appetite seemed to be decreased when I waited an hour before eating
but haven’t noticed any appetite suppresant effects yet.

grapefruit and Lipitor

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

Hey Dave (and anyone else who might be interested),

I talked to my doc at church this morning and asked if I should stop eating
grapefruit since I was on Lipitor. He said the grapefruit only affected Lipitor
if it was eaten two hours before or after taking the Lipitor. And since Lipitor
is generally taken in the evening and grapefruit is usually eaten at breakfast,
he said there shouldn’t be any problem! YAY! I really LIKE my breakfast
grapefruit and didn’t relish giving it up. Now I don’t HAVE TO!

Live and learn!
