I have cut down now to 20 u of Lantus twice a day and 5 u Novolog on an "as needed" basis. I saw my Doctor today and I have lost 8 pounds , my blood pressure is very good, 130/70, and I am going to continue dropping insulin at the rate of 2 units every two days. My last HBaC was 5.9 After dragging around much of the winter, my energy level is back and I am feeling very good. I am delighted with Byetta and will see my Doc (an internist) in six months. I am hoping for a good weight loss over the summer! No lizards were killed to save us! Although the medication was discovered in the lizard "spit", they have been able to synthesize it in the laboratory.
