Does effect change for you over time?

Hi…thanks to those who sent the good wishes re: the thyroid cancer.

I started on Byetta almost a month ago. I did notice an after meal
effect right away, but no effect on my fasting blood sugar. About a
week ago I started to notice a significant lessening of my fasting
blood sugar—yesterday it was 102, when it’s mostly been around
150-175 since I started the Byetta.
I also take glucophage (metformin)
amaryl
and actos.

I was about to ask the doctor if I should move up to the 10 of Byetta,
as I’m on the 5…but then the thyroid cancer was diagnosed, and I
thought I’d wait ’til after surgery to make any changes…and then my
FBS started to go down.

Have others noticed changes over time? I haven’t really lost weight,
yet…maybe a few pounds…

  1. Danial Johnston Says:

Since taking Byetta since January 10th, my HbA1C has gone from 6.4 to
5.9 . . .very happy about that. I have also decreased insulin use from
    32 units x 2 to 20 units x 2 and Novolog from 10 units x 3 to 5 units
as needed. Still taking Metformin twice a day.

Weight? Small loss but my home scale is not reliable. Will know next
    trip to Doctor!

Little to no nausea while taking 5 mcg and since taking 10 mcg, I have
been having more episodes. I am playing with my meals, trying to hit on
the right things to eat. Having been a compulsive eater, I am learning
to say, "no, I am not hungry" which have been foreign words to me. So
far, its an interesting experiment and hopefully in another month, I
will have things figured out pretty much.

Lots of experiences of Chills, even with extra clothes on.

Thanks for all of your experiences and helpful comments,
