<description>I forgot to say on the link email but, my new pen I got a couple of days ago has
the new storage information.

Pam

Pam,
Could you provide a link to the FDA announcement that Byetta has been
aproved for room temperature storage?

I had occasion to call the hot line because of blood in the pen and
they asked how I stored the pen. When I told them that I stored it in
the fridge, they didn't volunteer any information about new
guidelines, and I didn't know to ask.

Thanks,
&lt;!--more--&gt;

		<description>Roy,

The announcement is from the company, not the FDA.

It says that, after first use, the pen can be stored at temperatures from 36
degrees F. to 77 degrees F.

That is not exactly the same as keeping it at room temperature.

Hope that helps.

<description>Since the new recommendations have come out, this is what I've been doing
also. It really is handy to just grab and go, and not have to worry about
packing the thermos with ice, etc. :)

*I keep mine in the Byetta freebie cooler bag with the gel packs inside.
That way, if I am in a hurry to go somewhere it is already packed up and
cool. I live in the Houston area where the temps get too high to take
chances on not keeping it cold.*
