meat was been taking Byetta sence Nov 1
All by itself the protein in meat slows gastric emptying because it is
mostly broken down in the stomach while carbs and fat are digested mostly
in the mouth and small gut. When the gastric emptying slowing effect of
byetta is added to this, higher protein foods remain even longer in the
stomach and contribute to the gastric upset people report. Eating meat and
other protein high foods in smaller amounts might help and making sure meat
is well cooked for longer times which speeds its digestion make sense too.
Milk and egg and soy protein are easier to digest as are those fermented
or canned or cooked using marinades such as many fish which also speed
protein breakdown. And mechanical breakdown helps, chew, chew.
