Do You Have Room for Another?

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

Hi to all of you! You may not realize it but I owe you all many, many
thanks already. I’ve been reading these messages for over 3 weeks,
when I started I so afraid and so intimidated by this medication, you
all have taught me so much and more importantly, I’ve learned that my
feelings and reactions are shared by many.

I am learning to cope with the side effects, each day is better than
the previous and like others, I am thrilled with the results so far!
I was diagnosed about 5 years ago and controlled it by diet, then diet
and oral meds (glucophage), I lost 50# and then decided that I was
fine. I had no health coverage for a year and was not able,
financlially, to keep up with the cost of testing supplies and
bloodwork and my BG soared. When I had bloodwork done last month my BG
was nearly 400. So Byetta came into my life, with its help and getting
my eatting habits corrected I’ve brought my morning fasting readings

Refrigeration and Byetta

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

Effective Feb 11, 2007 you do not have to refrigerate your Byetta pen AFTER
you start using it. You should keep it refrigerated until your first use.
You must keep it below 77 degrees F.

I plan to keep mine refrigerated except when it is inconvenient to do so.
Living in the Houston area, leaving it out most of the year is not an
option.

MENTION Byetta as an option! Why not???

*Using Insulin for Type 2*

Treating type 2 diabetes is an art and a science. Doctors learn the science
from published studies. They learn the art though experience. Thus, some
doctors prefer certain diabetes medications, other doctors sing the praises
of other medications.

Then look at the patients. Each has different medical needs, different
lifestyles, and their own prejudices about certain medications. So there is
no single "right way" to treat type 2 diabetes.

However, the American Diabetes Association, with the European Association

Newbie this weekend

Sunday, May 28th, 2006

Hello Everyone,
I just started the Byetta 5 this weekend so that I could quit using
Actos (which was killing me with side effects). So far I have no side
effects from the Byetta, however my fasting BGL in the morning has
really risen. It seems my BGL is working properly during the day, but
by morning it has shot up 40-50 points. Has this happened to anyone
else? Am I doing something wrong with the Byetta?
Thanks - Lisa
