Advice Needed

I always do my 2nd Byetta injection at 6PM and eat at 6:15. Since we ate
early today (at 4:30PM), it slipped my mind and I just realized I did not
take it. I am now in the habit of eating smaller meals so, thankfully, ate
the amount of food I usually eat.

Do you think I can take it around 8 or 9PM and eat a small snack afterward?

Hello Nita,IMHO, Yes, you can. As I eat mini-meals I take the shot
before what to many, would be just a snack.

The 2 rules I don’t deviate from is to wait at least 6 hours before the
second shot and to eat within 1 hour after each shot.

This works for me.I started Byetta in late October and have lost 22 lbs
and my BG is doing great.

It seems to me that fitting the shots into your lifestyle ,not the other
way around makes the most sense. As diabetes is a chronic condition our
treatment protocols are long term and we will stick with it for the long
haul if it becomes part of our lifestyle.

    Nita,

I do that whenever I need to. Sometimes I forget to take my Byetta or we’re
out and end up eating before coming home. I’ll take my Byetta and have a
snack at bedtime when that happens. So far, I haven’t had any problems doing
    it.

Thanks, Wini - I made a blueberry oat cake - complex carbs because it is
100% oat flour and sugar free. I’ll definitely be sure to eat 250 calories
worth - which won’t be a problem since I ate such a lite supper. By the way
    - I live in League City and work up off ETC Jester in NW Houston. I am
definitely not looking forward to my commute at 5:15!

*Better advice from you and Robin than the Byetta hotline. I really did not
see a problem doing it. I took my first shot this morning at 5AM and my
next will be at 5AM so I’ll take it at 8PM and there will still have 9 hours
before the next one. 22 lbs is great!*

Yes, Jodi - the recipe is from scratch and easy to make. The owners have
not given permission to post recipes and I really think they should not - so
I went to the group site to see about posting it as a file but members in
this group cannot create files. I will send it to you separately.
