Does anyone know?/heart-Linda

I’ve tried the core plan & the Flex from weight watchers.
If I could get back to walking & pool classes that would probavbly help.
But with not being allowed to drive for now,due to health reasons,I just
have no way to get to the walking track & I can not go anywhere of do
anything outside the house by myself, due to having black-out spells.
I finally will see the Neurologist again Wednesday for results to the many
tests & some answers as to what is causing the black-outs.
I never know when it might happen,as I have no warning signs, or symptoms
before blacking out.
It’s pretty scary stuff. This has been 5 months no that I’ve been stuck
home except when I get a ride to & from weight watchers & out for doctor
appointments & tests & on Sat. days ,my dear husband takes me out grocery
shopping & by time we get done,I’m reall so tired,I have to eat & then have
a nap.
I’d go crazy if it was not for my computer & phone.

I’m a weight watcher ,but not losing now,in fact,I’ve been gaining,due to
my other health problems ,which are keeping from doing activity.
Thank You in advance.
Sincerly,
Linda from Southern Ontario,Canada

Hi Linda,
I have no idea about Byetta in Canada. Good luck with that.

I loved water aerobics and used to do that regularly. But, I have a year old
and I quit the gym when he was born. Now I am trying hard to get back in the
habit of exercising daily. I like Leslie Sansone’s WALK AWAY THE POUNDS. They
are easy on the body and easy to learn. She has everything available from one
to four miles. I love them. I also dance around the house sometimes.

If you think a new diet might help I like South Beach. I was reluctant to try
it because it sounded like a fad but it worked well for me. I lost 60 lbs.

    Hi Pam,
It’s nice to meet you too.
I am hoping after I see the neurologist this Wednesday Morning that he will
have a diagnosis for me & know what has to be done, wether it be
medication, surgery or anything & that once that is in place & working then I’m
hoping I will be allowed to drive again &slowly get back into the theraputic
pool classes & even go back to volunteering to instruct the classes & then get
back to walking at the walking track,it’s so much easier on my arthritic
joints,as it is simular to rubber & gives. That will more than likely help with
    weight loss.
Sounds like you are very busy, with a one year old baby boy.
I remmember whe our children were born & growing up,it was always busy &
exciting. It’s wonderful to see life thru thier eyes.
I do love children. We had a daughter & then 4 years later a son, they are both
    married to wonderful people,our daughter has 2 handsome active sons,ages 8 & 11

they are hockey players & both very good at it & do well in school as well.
Thier dream is to play NHL hockey,so in the future if you watch hockey & hear
of the Campbell Boys,Jon & Jake,it would be our Grandsons. we go to see them
play everu chance we get,it’s a 3-4 drive from here,so we stay for the weekend
    ,when we do go.
Our daughter is 37 & our Son is 32.
Our Son does not have any children yet, they both are busy now with
careers, but do want a family,so I think before too long,we may hear that there
will be an addition to our family.
I would have like to have had, more children ,but for health reasons was told
that was not a good idea,,so put everything into raising the 2 beatuiful ones
    that God,did lend to me.
    Bye for now. Take care.

Pam, what exactly do you need someone to do for you when you have a
black-out? Is it mostly a matter of catching you if you fall down, and
sitting with you until you come to? Physically carrying you home?
Calling an ambulance? Or do you need specific medical intervention?

It sounds to me like you need to find or hire a companion, at least to
go out on walks around your neighborhood. As long as you don’t actually
need skilled nursing care, and can clearly describe what happens to you
during a blackout and what the companion needs to do for you, anyone
could help you. Students at the nearest high school or community
college might enjoy a job where they got paid to be with you for an hour
3-5 days per week to take walks!

Or check your church/synagogue/mosque, the local agency on aging, the
senior center, a center for the disabled, etc. There are often

"friendly visitor" programs where people sign up to visit each other,
and sometimes drives the other to a meeting or appointment or whatever.

If you are getting something out of Weight Watchers, I know they have an
"online meeting" or something similar, for those who can’t make it
physically to a meeting. Or, you could try putting up postcards at a
few of the local meetings to see if you can hook up with someone nearby
to get a ride (offer to pay something towards gas, since you can’t
reciprocate by driving part of the time).

    Hi Ladies,
    Thank you for your replies.
My dear husband took me, today for my appointment with,Dr. Mirsattari, the
Neurologist for results of the MRI & other tests, that he had ordered for me to
    have.
He told us that all the tests came
back fine,it’s not epilepsey or anything else with the brain, which is good.
So we still do not know, what is causing the black-outs,he said having said
that,he went on to say, you (Me) do need to know & he will set up an
appointment with a Cardilogist,& see what ,they will have to say, they will
probably send me for more tests.
So I wait to hear, from them as to ,when the appointment will be.
I’m hoping it will be before ,too long,as he asked me to not drive until after
the Cardilogist appointment & let them decide what must be done & see if they
come up with a diagnosis, then go from there.

My dear husband said ,he will take me to the walking track after work a few
days a week,so that wll be good & I called the lady & her husband ,who have been
taking me to weight watchers meetings & local family dr. appointments & lett her
know, she said they will continue to take me,for now, they go to the same Church
    we do.
I was thinking, this weekend ,when we go shopping ,maybe I could buy a few
music CD’s & play them & dance to the music here at home, that would be fun & a
way to get in some activity,as well.
    As for a companion,the Von’s have something like that,but I do not have a
diagnosis,so would not qualify & do not workanymore, due to my ,many other
health issues,so really can not afford to hire someone.
Dr. Mirsattari was surprized ,when I told him ,I had the last black-out, the
afternoon of October 31st,2006,so 2 1/2 months ago.
The wierd thing is ,I have no warning or symtoms ,to tell me it is going to
happen,it just does & I end up on the sidewalk or floor,I’m only out a short
time & wake up confused, sore, at least the last time, I went down on my purse &
bags of Christmas gifts,I had bought,so did not break any bones, that time.
My Blood Pressure & Blood Sugars are good.
So I will just take one day at a time, until the Doctors find oud the cause &
    decide,what is to be done.
I am hoping to be allowed to drive again, after I get a diagnosis & treatment.
    Thank you again.
    Sincerely,
    Linda From Southern Ontario
