Itching

Thursday, March 30th, 2006

I have been on Byetta around 6 months now with relativly few side
effects. Lately I have had itching of my skin around my chest, neck and
head. I have also noticed red marks at my injection sites which I never
had. I suspect it may be the Byetta but not sure. Anyone had anything
like this?
Thanks
Jim

6 pens - 7 days out of the fridge

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

Oh, ugh. I don’t know what to do. I am afraid to call Byetta Help
Line, though the worst they can tell me is no, though I’m almost sure
they’ll tell me NO, and you’re a moron, you should have found some way
to keep them cold.

Here is my dilemma.

I have 6 byetta pens. I have 3 (1 half used) 10s and 3 (1 half used)
5s. The reason I have 6 is because my insurance sends me my
medications through the mail, and they send me 3 months at a time. I
started with the 5’s.. my doctor upped me to 10’s, but I got horribly
sick, but he still wants me to try to slip the 10’s in.. so he
suggested to try to get the 10 in when I can, so if I take 5 in the
morning, 10 at dinner.. or try the 10 at least every other day. I
started doing that, and then…. right before Christmas, our power

Diabetes & Sleep Apnea

Sunday, March 26th, 2006

I haven’t much weight loss on Byetta. But neither have the
antidepresents I have been on for the last 7 years been much
help. Well there is a program on TV for us diabete’s that made
some short comment to the effect that if you’r neck was 17.5′
or larger you probably had sleep apnea.

The reason I bring this up is a few days later when the lung
spesialist ordered my sleep study he mentioned that sleap apnea
often caused high blood pressure and caused type 2 diabetes to
be much harder to treat.

I am wating on the results from my doc. but the tecknician went
ahead and told I did have it. In the Overeaters Anomomus group
I sometimes go to out of 10 members 2 women have this and I am
the first male. They feal a great deal better using the breathing

Just double dosed!!!

Sunday, March 26th, 2006

I think I just double dosed. I have no idea what I was thinking.
Appearantly I wasn’t. I’ve been on Byetta for a few months now.
Anyone do this before? What kind of morning am I in for? I better go
eat, thats for sure!

Thanks!

Where to find low price pen needles?

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

This is not intended to reopen the needle reuse discussion…

I went on the net to look for alternatives to getting my pen needles
from my insurance company. I had hoped to find them for less than the
$25 copay/100 needles that they charged.

Does anyone have a lower cost supplier?

NICE trip to the pharmacy

Monday, March 20th, 2006

So, I went today to pick up my first pen of the new year and was delightfully
surprised to only pay $38! This is less than half what I was paying before.
However, my FSA card is not working yet, but not a huge deal for that small
amount. I scared my poor pharm tech when I asked if the price was right. =)
That is a HUGE weight off my shoulders.

Questions and thoughts

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

I am sorry that I said that there is no such thing as Pre-diabetes. I guess I
was uninformed. I think it sounds like being a little pregnant. You need to
take care of yourself whatever you call your condition. I hope that calling it
that does not change insurance. I was insulin resistant and diet and exercise
controlled for several years. Then my bs skyrocketed. I went on very strict
diet. I lost weight (60 lbs.). I am still having problems getting it under
complete control. Diet is not having the same affect as before. I am still
trying. I had a surprise pregnancy. My son was born right after Christmas in
2005. I am working out at home and not at the gym like I used to. But overall
thing are getting better with Byetta and as I continue learning.

People ask about weight loss and appetite control. I found that if I eat a high
carb breakfast then I crave carbs all day. If I eat a breakfast with protein
then I feel better and I don’t have the cravings. It works for me. I think
that byetta is an aid to losing weight not a magic medicine. My goal for is to

Info on Pre-Diabetes

Thursday, March 9th, 2006

I can’t remember who mentioned this, but I work at Pennington Biomedical
Research Center in Baton Rouge (www.pbrc.edu) and they’ve done a lot of studies
on Pre-diabetes there. It is a true condition.

Pre-Diabetes Question

Tuesday, March 7th, 2006

Is this something (BYETTA) I could take for weight loss/pre-diabetes
with my Metformin?
And has anyone been on a brand of Metformin that made them nauseated and
he/she had to throw up? My Dr. has changed my brand of Met.
Is Byetta easy to use?
