Sinus Misery Continues

Monday, February 20th, 2006

After a month on the 5 MCG I’ve switched to 10 MCG and the sinus
misery is much worse. Going back to 5 and possibly off all together.

Shame is this stuff is really working wonders for me and I have no
other side effects.

Has anyone else had sinus problems from this?

DIABETES- TREATMENT

Monday, February 20th, 2006

Hello,

I have been having diabetes type 2 and I realized for 5 years ago.
After 4 years the vision began to diminish, was seeing but blurred
and when I was where the doctor I realized that my sugar level was
of 563. The endocrinólogo prescribe me a series of medicines that
managed to lower the sugar level and they taught several things to
me on the diabetes ;but immediately that leaves the medicines I
returned to raise in sugar and the bleed complicated me. Then it was
making me addict to those medicines, but in the long run they did
not solve the problem to me and was lowering of weight. Then I
decided to change of medicine and decides on the naturism and I went
to a naturist doctor who I prescribe natural things, and thus was
looking for many solutions and proving them, I found in Internet
naturists solutions in

Question for the Nurses-Current or Retired

Friday, February 17th, 2006

I’ve been trying to figure the dosing/quantities in the 10mcg Byetta
pen. Doesn’t make sense to me and maybe someone can show me where I am
going astray.

On the pen it says: 60 subcutanious doses of 10mcg per pen. That’s
about 1.6u per 10mcg shot. But, it also says (quantity) 250mcg/ml, 2.4ml
on the pen. 60 x 10mcg = 600mcg???

Officially starting

Friday, February 17th, 2006

Well, I’m officially starting Byetta. After having the Rx for almost 2
months, I’ve finally gotten over the chicken part of me that is
terrified of needles. I’m starting on Saturday, after my
mother-in-law, who has been with us for 2 weeks is leaving (I didn’t
really want it geetting back to all the relatives what I’m up to).

On a good note, as I mentioned before, I’ve been "bargaining" with
myself that if I exercise more I can avoid using something with
needles. So for the last few months I’ve been using my eliptical
machine and hand weights at home. While my weight hasn’t budged that
much..well only about 8 pounds (man it is stubborn), I just took some
measurements yesterday to compare to my starting point and have lost
over 9 inches. That made me happy!

Can’t wait to see how the Byetta works on my numbers and appetite.

Thursday, February 16th, 2006

Hi
New to group…. Long story short….DiabeticII since December 2003,
under control until October 2005 when I had major surgery to remove 10
pound Uterine Tumor and complete Hysterectomy. Major depression,
hormone problems and diabetic #’s are out of control. Starting
Byetta on 12/27 as part of an active change and trying to help with
serious weight gain and more. What are the side effects are you
experiencing. I also take N and R insulin…
Any info appreciated.

I asked her to prescribe me the one that came with my byetta. I had
gotten a kit with a couple needles. She wrote me a script. She
actually taped the pen size to my chart. She was interested because
her mother takes byetta.

Like I said, I am not sure if it is working but I should know soon as I
am not sick any longer.

Blood in the Byetta Pen?

Sunday, February 12th, 2006

After this morning’s injection, I noticed what looks like some blood
(red matter floating) in the pen. Of course, the blood is mine, but
should this be a concern? Can I continue to use the pen for tonight
and tommorrow’s injections?

I will call the Byetta hotline when it reopens on Tues., but till then
please offer up opinions.

Thank You
