One side of my head immediately becomes congested and I get a
headache, this is within an hour of taking the shot. Rest of the time
congestion, nasal drip etc. Much worse first shot of the day. Not as
    bad on second shot.

Hell Brian, As I’ve posted before, I had sinus congestion at the
beginning of Byetta that lasted several weeks.

I used 12 hour nose drops with great relief.

Have you tried nose drops or Sudafed capsules?

I didn’t mention that I take Nasonex twice a day?

I’ve been using it all. When you say several weeks are you saying that
it finally cleared up? When I talked to the folks at Byetta about this
problem they said that in clinical trials and infield use they have
not seen the sinus problems clear up with use like the gastro.

I’ve been on juice for about 6 weeks now. I went back to the 5 which
has reduced the symptoms somewhat and I still have decent sugar control.

Hello Brian, I had the congestion for 4 weeks on the 5 dose and then it
got a lot worse on the 10 for several weeks then completely went away.
I’ve been on Byetta since mid October so I think it cleared up
    completely during week 8.

I would have to agree with the Flonase. I use it and I love it. I only use it
when I actually have problems, and within a few hours, I already feel
improvement. My sinus problems always start with my teeth hurting, and I take a
snort as soon as I feel that. I may take another a few hours later. I’m
supposed to be taking two sprays, but one works fine, I spread them out
throughout the day. It takes care of stuffiness or drippiness, my headaches, or
any other symptom I have. And, this is the good part, there’s a generic now. I
use it more because of that.

If you are benefitting from Byetta and want to
continue with it, ask your MD for a long-acting,
steroid nasal spray like Vancenase or Flonase. These
suppress sinus drainage–one spray in each nostril
every morning. Might help with the early morning
    Byetta headache, too.
