a few comments
Dear group members,
Your postings have been very informative. I am on
Byetta 10, Lantus 100 units at night, Humalog
breakfast and supper, and Glucophage 1000 breakfast
and supper. The dr’s tried me on Actos and Avandia a
few years back. After a month on each my body was
shutting down. I had to take a week off from work. I
could hardly move. Water retention was horrible. Had
chest pains. Half of my body was losing feeling. Told
dr the 25 symptoms. He said "I’m the doctor and I know
what is good for you." I left crying and vowed he was
fired from being MY dr anymore. Within the year after
telling my regular dr that, he was gone from their
office. I think that I know my own body. About a year
later another dr tried to wing Avandia on me. After a
month same symptoms. It is a sister drug for Actos. I
told that dr too previously that I could not tolerate
Actos. Another dr bites the dust. Now I have one that
is a diabetic himself. If anyone should know…. Also
on Actos I would come home from work so hungry that
even a wood table looked good enough to eat. With
Byetta I have little appetite most of the time. I am
getting acid indigestion right before going to bed at
night. Tired once in awhile. By the way, I am 57 and
just retired from teaching Kindergarten in the
inner-city.
Stress and lack of enough sleep also affect your
numbers.
To Brian Kushner–I have doubled up on my 5 pen
when he upped my dosage of Byetta to ten. There was no
problem. Anytime you can save a nickel with these
prescription prices do it.
I have been using my needles and syringes twice.
Anybody else doing that? Also how do you dispose of
them? I have been using coffee cans with taped lids.
Thanks.

I use my needles at least 10 times each and my lancets for months. Hasn’t
hurt me yet. Janet

I use one pen needle per pen, mostly through my t-shirt. I change it if it
bends or starts dragging.

Rather than in your stomach per se, try your waistline

I use a needle until my shrieks of pain wake the people in the cemetery
across the street !!!
Just kidding, but I love to watch these threads develop.
