Dry Mouth

I have an extremely dry mouth from my Type 2. I have just started
using Byetta (5 mcg once/day (evening meal)) four days ago, and I have
noticed that my dry mouth has disappeared. I used to wake up gargling
with warm water to try and re-hydrate my mouth and soft palate. Now
they are fine.

I have looked through the literature and haven’t noticed a reference
to this benefit of Byetta. Is this a known effect?

I’m ecstatic over it! There are times when my soft palatte is so
dried out it hurts and takes hours to rehydrate. This side effect is
    a blessing for me.

dry mouth is a symptom of high blood sugar numbers. I can tell if I have
started to go high cause the "cotton" mouth starts. The higher I go the
    dryer it gets.
If you have brought your numbers in control that could be the reason the
    dry mouth has abated.
It could also be from sleeping with your mouth open. If you have lost
weight that could have something to do with that.
