Exactly! No offense taken, but I would question him about his decision.
But since there is a chance of interaction with another med, maybe that
explains his choice. I am glad you have a lot of trust in your dr. A lot
of us here don't have that luxury.

Demetria-Beth

No offense, but I'll take the advice of my doctor (who knows me and
has my medical history in front of him) over a stranger on the
internet. BTW, I can't take ibuprofen, because of possible
interactions with another medication I take.

Christine, I think your doctor is being sensible. It is always best to
start with the medication that has the least potential for harm before
moving 'up' to other medications. Tylenol does work well for some people
for some conditions, and it is a first choice drug for arthritis. It does
not work at all for me but it does well for a friend of mine. My mother
cannot take any of the anti-inflammatories because they cause her to bleed
so Tylenol is frequently what she has to use. It does not make her pain go
away, but brings the level down so she can cope better.

Please let us know after a while how things are going for you and how your
combination of medications are working for your problems. We can all learn
from each other.

Christine,

I hate to question your dr. but Tylenol is not a good choice for Arthritis.
It may help the pain, but it does nothing for the inflammation. A better
choice would be Ibuprofen. Advil Gel caps work good, but all ibuprofen's
are the same--200mg.

Demetria-Beth

PS....Maybe he's afraid of stomach upset?

I just started taking Tylenol for Arthritis yesterday. This was at
the explicit recommendation of my endocrinologist.

liver.
