whoops! what do I do now? I accidentally left my byetta pen out of the
refrigerater last night until this morning and just found it when I went to do
my pen. I used it anyway after I inspected it and it does stay cooler in the
room that I left it in. Do you think that it will be ok? I will let you guys
know if it still is effective.

Stuffy Nose?

Saturday, December 10th, 2005

5 days on the spit and basically the ONLY side effect I’m seeing is
sinus. My nose immediately stuffs up, I get a sinus headache and it
makes me feel crappy.

I have a long history of allergy and sinus trouble. Has anyone else
experienced this problem with the 5 spit and does it clear up?

travel advice

Wednesday, December 7th, 2005

I’m going to Disney World next week and need some advice about the Byetta. Our
plan is to go early to the parks, enjoy an early lunch as our biggest meal of
the day then return to our hotel for afternoon rest time (we have a 4 & 6 year
old). So breakfast, when I usually take my Byetta, will likely be something
very small just to tide me over until lunch. Therefore, my questions are:

Should I still do my shot at breakfast with the small meal (something like a
granola bar and coffee) or do it before my larger lunch meal. Dinner will be
about the same as at home and is not an issue.

If I do the shot before lunch, this will mean taking the Byetta into the parks
with me. The resort is just too far to go back to do the shot. I have the
cooling pouch from Byetta and I’m wondering if it will keep the Byetta cool
enough long enough. I’m anticipating it being out of the refrigerator from
about 8 am to 1 pm every day. We will have a refrigerator in our room.

Vacation

Tuesday, December 6th, 2005

I just got back from a vacation at my mother’s place in Michigan. For
the second year in a row, my blood glucose has gone down drastically
while I was there. First day’s BG was 138, last day’s was 49, despite
pancakes for breakfast every day. I may lower my Lantus dosage.

I see three possible causes:

1. Getting away from the stress of my job.
2. Getting away from the building I work in. (I have suspicions that
it’s an unhealthy place.)
or, 3. The fact that I worked myself into exhaustion every day cutting
up and burning fallen logs. I always work like mad while I’m up there,
but I suspect that exercise and Byetta are synergistic. Consider: The
Gila Monster uses Byetta to wake up his pancreas after long fasting.
If he’s found food, then most likely he’s gotten more active in order

Fwd: [Diabetes_And_Byetta] Off Topic…it’s a sad day

Monday, December 5th, 2005

Sharon,

I am sorry you lost your companion today. I have 2 yorkies and a jack
russell. I know how heartbroken you must feel. I am sure he had a
good life with you and that is all an animal could ask for. I think
about what will I do if I lose one of my fur kids. I hope I will feel
that I gave them the best life anyone could of given them. Hugs.

Dale
