Byetta does not need to be refrigerated

The second BYETTA development update I would like to share with you
today is progress towards clearly enhancing the convenience of using
BYETTA for our patients. As you know, we currently instruct patients
to refrigerate their pens, or to use a
cool pack between doses. We have recently demonstrated the stability
of BYETTA at room temperature for the full 30-day pen lifespan. We
will provide this additional data and work with the FDA to obtain
approval for a change in storage instructions. We anticipate that
these new, more convenient instructions might be in use by patients
in early 2007. …….
……We expected to roll out room-temperature storage instructions
for BYETTA in 2007. Lilly is making good progress with the BYETTA
reviews outside the United States and planning for approvals and
launches. We have begun work on a nasal delivery form of Exenatide.
The Exenatide LAR clinical and manufacturing programs are on track

and our research into obesity has yielded results and a new amio
mimetic will enter the clinic this year, as well as a start of a
combination study with Amylin and Leptin for obesity.

hmmm, I think I’d rather take Byetta as shot than snorting it!
