Fwd: [Diabetes_And_Byetta] Air Travel
Bob,
I would carry my byetta in a thermos with ice, wrap the byetta in
bubble wrap so it does not get wet. Just before I go through security
empty out the ice and show the byetta and prescription to security.
After passing through security go to a food vendor and ask for ice,
you have to empty it again before boarding but if you are delayed the
byetta will still be kept cold. When you get on board ask for some ice
and put it in the thermos. That is what I would do. Maybe some one
will respond with a better solution.

Yep! Read Dave Mendosa’s article. He wrote that the FDA has an application
to allow Byetta to be kept at room temperature.

Didn’t someone say that Amylin filed an application with FDA to change
the labelling to say that Byetta can be kept at room temp for the
entire 30 days the pen is in use (similar to how insulin is handled)?
That would simplify travel a lot.
