<description>I've had trouble with carbonated beverages but I should point out that it didn't
increase my nausea so much as give me a very sour stomach and heartburn. I've
suffered from acid reflux for year and my regular dose of Zantac wasn't enough
to curb the acid the soda was generating after starting Byetta. I think in my
case the soda was more affecting my acid control than nausea and increased acid
reflux/sour stomach is just one of the many side effects of Byetta (and it DOES
go away eventually, slowly but surely.)

I drink alot of diet coke. Never had a problem with it and byetta. OMG I hope
I never do !!! Kathy in GA

<description>I'm in my 5th week of Byetta and can now drink a little soda again. I am a diet
Pepsi/Coke addict and never had tummy trouble with it until Byetta. At the
beginning water was all I could stomach -- no coffee, tea, juice, etc. I HAVE
to have my morning cup of 1/2 caff coffee. There's just something about that
jolt of heat early in the day. So I grimaced through that most days and now can
tolerate it just fine. I am still nowhere near my regular soda consumption
though. I like the 2 liter sodas because they tend to flatten just a bit after
you open the bottle and I can tolerate that better. Not all the way flat, just
not super fizzy either.

I am a sweets-a-holic and at the beginning of Byetta, I didn't want it at all.
The thought of candy or cookies and stuff like that was revolting to me. It was
odd to me because even if I had the flu or something, I'd still feed my
addiction with a bit of cookie or peanut butter cup. Sadly, about the end of
week 3 I had some chocolate and wham, my sweet cravings came back! Because I
&lt;!--more--&gt;
can't eat a lot before feeling really full, I find I don't eat near as much. I
know as a diabetic, it shouldn't even be &#34;as much&#34; but that's life. I can
handle chocolate in small quantities, cookies are ok, but cake, or more actually
frosting, still makes me feel very sick to think about. Also I can't go near
ice cream, it just turns my stomach inside out with one bite.

I am wondering if there are others of you that have experienced
problems with drinking carbonated drinks since taking Byetta. Byetta
has definitely curtailed my &#34;diet soda&#34; consumption. So, there again,
another good outcome for me. Between Byetta and no longer
drinking &#34;diet colas&#34;, I have no sweet cravings whatsoever. All my
life I have craved sugar to the point that I could eat it with a
spoon, if no other sweet was available. No wonder I developed Type 2
Diabetes, as well having as having a diabetic parent.

<description>Hasn't done anything to me for my pop consumption. In fact, I think I crave it
more now than ever. I am trying to quit the pop, starting off by not buying
cases to keep at home, but it's hard. However, I have bigger fish to fry than
pop right now, so I'm not too much concerned with it just yet.
