Would You Advise Me To Try Byetta?
It’s been out there for over a year! I’ve been using Insulin
for over 10 years but use very small amounts but my doctor
feels it might work for me to help with weight loss. My last
A1C was 8.0. I’ve been diabetic for 20 years. My husband has
just retired and our only real enjoyment is going out to eat
and we don’t have a lot of choices as we live in a rural area.
Please give me some pros and cons. Thanks.

My last
A1C was 8.0.
On Byetta my A1C went from 7.3 to 5.0 and I lost 42 pounds. That was reason
enough for me to stay on Byetta. Janet

How long did it take you to lose the weight that you did?

It took me about 7 months to lose the 42 pounds but I wasn’t dieting and was
eating a rather high carb diet. If I had cut back on my eating I would have
lost a lot more weight and faster too, but then I have trouble keeping the
weight off. It stays off better if I lose it slowly by just eating a little
less than usual and cutting out sweets and snacks. Janet
