You could get a note from your doctor on a prescription paper. All it
would say is that ………………needs to keep his medication with
him at all times and the byetta medication must be kept in a
refridgerator or on ice. Have him dated and signed.

I have one from my doctor for traveling purposes. It just says meds
must be kept with me at all times.
I am sure if you then show them the pen original prescription box and
leaflet info on keeping cold you will be ok.

If not empty the ice and after you go through security get more.

Headaches on the 10 pen

Wednesday, May 11th, 2005

I started the 10 pen 4 days ago and I’ve had a headache since. Has anyone else
experienced this? Is it a symptom of the 10? I’ve had nausea but its about gone.
But the headache is getting to me.

I think you are right Jodi. I am sure after they examine your
prescription and pen, you can get ice at a food station. In Newark
Liberty you go through security and then there are fast food places and
restaurant/bar. I am sure they will give you ice or you can get a
soda/pop….:)

Fwd: [Diabetes_And_Byetta] using mail order

Friday, May 6th, 2005

I get my mail order from medco. They call me to set a special delivery
date. They mail it in a cold pack that will keep the pen cold enough
for the duration of the mailing. I believe it is overnight delivery.
They do not mail it on a friday or on weekends.

just started the 10 pen

Thursday, May 5th, 2005

Well I started the 10 pen yesterday. My BG was higher all day. I guess I didn’t
eat enough carbs. And I don’t want alot of carbs. I need to lose alot of weight.
15 last month on the 5 pen….waaaa hoooo…. Anyway, I’m watching it closely
today. Not giving it up just yet. But why do we have to move to the 10 pen when
everything was going so great on the 5????

I just love Byetta!

Monday, May 2nd, 2005

I love Byetta because it lets me live a normal life and eat almost normally
even sometimes lets me be very, very naughty, like today. This afternoon my
hubby and I went to a community fair. We ate cotton candy, snow cones,
popcorn, and drank regular lemonade. Then at the fair, we had a dinner of
turkey,
tacos, chips and salsa, and Mexican rice. I took my Byetta shot just before
we went to the fair. I checked my blood sugar an hour after we left the
fair (and I was feeling stuffed by that time) and it was 115. When I got home,
about an hour later, I ate a bowl of assorted fruit. I just checked my blood
sugar now before bedtime–5 hours after we left the fair. And it is 83!
And I remembered that I forgot my evening dose of metformin, so it had to be
the Byetta that kept those numbers down. My husband has diabetes the same as
me, ate the same things I did, and checked blood sugar now at the same time I
did–but he doesn’t use Byetta. His blood sugar tonight was 110.
Not that bad but I bet it would be lower if he used Byetta too. My fasting
