Marsha and Jessica have met!
After all the verbal sparring, finally, we got down to it.
The Scarlet Wombat filled a vat with melted Lindt 70% dark chocolate,
and it began. We wrestled, we fell, we emerged. She tried to stuff
steak in my mouth, I attacked her with broccoli!
Seriously, on my trip home from NH, I met Dan and Marsha at their
lovely home. It’s obvious that great food comes out of that kitchen,
that they are a "meant to be" couple, and that they are both
interesting, brilliant people. (Plus, they were really nice to my
canine companion.)
While Marsha and I may disagree on proteins and carbs, it seems we are
both rabidly opposed to transfats and more than a forkful of junk food.
I hope to see you both again on my next trip, unless you come here first!

Hi Jessica!
Glad to see you and Olivia arrived home safe and sound! It was a great, albeit
way too short, visit.
What a great post! (smile) You forget, I LOVEED the broccoli! It must have
been such a shock to you when I gobbled it down, leaving you holding just the
stalk. (chuckle)
I agree (gasp!) that while we both come from very opposite points of view about
how to tackle eating, we both are concerned that people eat foods without
transfats and without a lot of meaningless calories. And we both agree that
virtually all forms of treatment have some merit - from allopathic to
naturopathic. I know, I know - people here must be reeling - aaaagh! Marsha
and Jessica agree about something twice. The world must be ready to end. Well,
not quite. (smile)
I still get sick from veggie bacon bits so that will never happen. And I do
keep Stevia on hand so that’s something Jessica can agree too. Wow.
Yes, there is great food (we even make good vegetarian food) that comes out of
the kitchen and we hope to make you some sometime. There may someday even be a
PA trip in our future. Who knows? Once law school is done I may actually have
a life again and be able to wander away for a weekend or so.
Consider yourself hugged and give Olivia a good petting from me. She’s a
keeper! You’re a keeper too, my friend. (smile) You guys are all in for a
treat if/when someday you get to meet Jessica. She’s SUPER! And I forgive her
for not recognizing that meat is the soul food of the diabetic. (laughter)
Best regards,
Marsha
