I had something happen this evening and I’m not sure if my pen is messed up
or not.
I am on the 10 pen now. When I took my evening shot, I pulled it out as
usual and twisted the dial. When I did.it squirted the spit at me! I
haven’t had that happen before. Should I be turning the dial while it’s
still inside my skin?

I hate to say this.
I know it seems right to ask but I do not think it is legal. I feel
the same way about wasting medications that you know people are
struggling to get and you have to discard it. The way I avoid it is by
calling my doctor and asking if they would take it for a patient.
Doctors always give samples and they have given me insulin too. I have
heard many posters who suggest going to your doctor if you can not
afford the medication for samples. As long as it is sealed, the
doctor has always accepted my medications.

This isn’t directly related to Byetta, but it is diabetes related so I hope
that it is okay for the list. I’m ashamed to say this, but last night, I
was feeling lazy about foot care, and I decided I would use the callus
cutter thingy to take the dead skin off my heels. Maybe this is too gross
to share.I hope not. Anyway, that didn’t work so what did this genius do?
I took the razor blade out of the cutter thing and was just using it. And
of course the longer I did it the braver I got until I cut a big piece of
"live" skin off. Well, it bled just a little bit so I thought it wasn’t
that bad. So I just wiped the blood of with an alcohol swab (I must have an
addiction to those) and went on about my business. Well, today it was
really sore walking around. So tonight after my bubble bath (Okay I admit
it..I’m a kid at heart) I decided to have a closer look. Well, it’s kinda
gaping open and it’s dark around it, plus it’s been bleeding a little more.

I’ve been on the 5 pen almost a month. Probably only have a couple of days left
before i go to the 10 pen. I am eating right and my BS is rising….just a
little. Today for breakfast i had a scrambled egg and 2 slices of bacon, for
lunch i had a hamburger patty and a tomato. nothing in between. and only diet
coke to drink. I took my BS a few minutes ago and it’s 116. Will stress make
your BS go up cause I’ve had a stressful afternoon or has my pen lost its punch?

There really is a place called Ruth’s Chris Steak house.
It is an upscale steak house and is very very very very good!
