A final message from John Dodson

I want to say thanks to all of you and let you know how much I have enjoyed
the time we have spent getting to know one another and sharing the adventure of
learning more about Byetta and its effect on our lives. It has been
remarkable. I have been help in some very important ways by members of this
list. And I
appreciate you all so much.

After 14 months on Byetta and some 90 lb. lighter it is time for me to say
good-bye. I am starting back to more full time at my work, I am a Capital Fund
Developer for churches and non-profits in Northern California and Nevada. I
have been retired for 6 years from my former occupation and I love having some
extra time. Thanks to all of you who responded to my needs at various times. To
those who extended comfort and understanding when my wife was killed in a car
accident. To those who helped my fighting the yo-yo effect, especially Marsha
I am grateful. And I have enjoyed following the dialogue between various ones,

even the seemingly ridiculous. I have found it a wonderful open door into the
humanity of us all. For all that and more I am grateful.

My job is to teach people how to become generous givers in their lives. It is
my belief that this capacity is among the highest of human achievements. It
is the result of a life lived deeply and intentionally. It is the realization
that learning to give back is what it is all about. I know that it is not just
related to financial resources but also to all of life. Many of you have
helped me understand how much more important giving back is than I had
originally
thought. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I believe we are entering a new era in the treatment of Diabetes. It is the
first time I have felt that this is truly our time. Pursue your own health
vigorously and with passion. It is so important to be focused on what really
works. Byetta has made a huge difference in my life. I am writing an article
which
I am submitting to several publications about my own journey with Byetta and
how it has changed my future and has given me hope again. I am amazed at how
many have not even heard of Byetta, particularly medical personnel and other
diabetics. I want to dedicate a part of my life to spreading the word to all
those who need to hear about this life changing medication. All the best to each
and every one of you. Thanks Andrew for your efforts, I admire you and
appreciate you and what you are doing, even if you are a somewhat complicated

John, I’m truly saddened to see you go, but understand your reasons. I
admire you for pursuing your dream. You’ve been a positive and hopeful
part of my byetta journey, and know whomever you touch out there in the
real world will be blessed.. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and
    God bless.

    Dear John,

I wish you would reconsider! You have a lot to offer this group,
especially the new, just learning members such as myself!

You said, "learning to give back is what it is all about", so I
really hope you will not totally leave the group but continue to
give back some of all you have to offer to us! I know you will be
more limited in the time available, but perhaps we are part of
the "mission" you should be discerning your call to!

I agree…..I’ve been on Byetta almost a month. I’ve gone back and read almost
every message you’ve written. We need you. Kathy from Georgia!!

Dear Kathy and Kristie, Thanks for the affirmation. The issue is not whether
or not I am willing and able to respond but rather allocation of scarce
resources. I just don’t have time to adequately or even inadequately respond the
    way
I would like to and be of value to the group. I didn’t want to be like some

you just go "no mail" and drop in occasionally and let
us know how things are going.I admire you for your
faith and your spirit. i hope all goes well for you.
    my prayers are with you.
