Nausea and Vinager
Kat, the principle behind vinegar helping with acid reflux is called the
"law of similars." It is the basis for homeopathy and was known even in
ancient Greece. It does seem counterintuitive, but very often, vinegar
will help an acid stomach."
That truth claim about that tradition has no basis in science and can not
be independently demonstrated as a "law" or any thing else. Vinegar, also
an acid source, doesn’t negate stomach acid, if it works it is because it
speeds up the normal shut down of acid production when acidity reaches a
given level with counter balancing hormones.

XB,
I seem to remember on this account that we were previously advised to take the
debate on homeopathy off list. Perhaps you could debate the homeopath in
private? I’m on the side of homeopathy and that is ’nuff said from me on the
topic.
