Dale,
I am type 2. My doctor switched me to levemir when it
first came out. in fact i was his first patient on it.
i have had no side effects from it at all. in fact it
works so well for me that i was able to cut my dosing.
As far as dosing goes, it is unit per unit the same as
lantus. it is taken once or twice a day. more like
NPH. i take it at bedtime. my lantus dose was 60 u. i
take 20 of the levemir. as far as i know it can be
taken by either type 1 or type 2. the biggie with
levemir is it doesn't have the associated weight gain
like lantus or NPH. I have been very happy with it. i
have been on it about 7 months. if i can be of any
other assistance, please don't hesitate to ask
