		<description>Hi Den,

Oh, I concur - byetta alone does not cause weight to melt off. It helps by
controlling hunger through a variety of mechanisms, it seems, but it cannot
overcome eating the wrong kinds of foods in the wrong amounts nor being a couch
potato. Even people with limited access to exercise can generally find
something to do, even if it is deep breathing.

I control for calories and carbs and do my best to exercise, although that has
been very spotty recently. I hope that now that my summer schedule (which has
been more insane than usual) is coming to a close that I will get back on
track...as soon as I get over the brutal chest cold/ear infection I am now
battling.

Byetta will intially help some folks through not letting them eat the amounts
&lt;!--more--&gt;
they did before, but ultimately, we are what techie's refer to as a 7th level
problem - the operator. We are what operates to make the choice as to what
leaves the plate and enters the mouth. If we are incapable of controlling that
then byetta may help with BG control (unless we out eat it) but there will be no
weight loss.

I am pleased with the better BG control, but the result I want to see is weight
loss - and a lot more of it - because only with weight loss can I hope to see a
permanent resolution to this problem.

<description>I agree with the losing weight aspect I myself have lost over 60 lbs, I
watch my diet very close, I follow the best diet for me. Which does not
mean its best for others. My reason to get on Byetta was to see if it
would control my BG better than just the regular medication. And it is.

But to me seems like alot are counting on Byetta to loss weight (to
assist in the weight loss). And when taking Byetta and not lossing the
weight as hoped for seems like alot are getting disappointed.

I my self have noticed tha no longer do I fell full as I did once
starting the drug.

But like I was saying this is my thought, and I am following a diet the
suites me best with my fight.

<description>The issue, sirden, is that most of us want to lose weight in order to control
the diabetes. For most of us, if we lose the weight then our BG will normalize
and the insulin resistance will go down and we can reduce or eliminate almost
all meds - even, someday, byetta.

So the reason we want to lose weight is a very health-conscious reason.
