Baby Refrigerators
I am taking a long car trip in a few weeks and thought about buying
one of those little refrigerators (sized to hold a six pack) that plug
into the cigarette lighter thing in a car. It seems easier than a
thermos for a car trip. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Jessica…
I personally don’t have any experience with them, but it seems like I read
somewhere that they don’t get cold enough to keep the byetta at the required
temperature. Of course, I guess that could vary by manufacturer. I’ll see
if I can find where I read that.

Jessica, Although I haven’t used one, I have read a fair amount of
postings concerning their use. The primary concern is that many of
them only cool to a certain amount, usually 40 degrees below the air
temperature. If your car is in the hot sun, that could mean that they
are still at extreme temps. Be sure you read any packaging carefully,
and if you buy one, I’d suggest also buying a refrigerator thermometer
and testing it under the conditions you will be using it in before
putting the real thing in it on a trip. Pat in ID
