I will be going to the 10 pen next week. What changes can I expect, if
any?

Fwd: [Diabetes_And_Byetta] Weight loss plateu - more

Hi Joe,

You have mentioned about cutting calories, but you did not mention if
you drink water. They say you need to drink water. I mention that
because I do not like to drink water unless it is ICE cold. Weight
watchers say you should drink 8 glasses of water a day. I think a
couple can be counted if they were crystal light, etc. some kind of
liquid. But the old weight watchers says you should drink 8 glasses of
water.

weight loss and Byetta.

Saturday, February 26th, 2005

I have been on Byetta for over three months. So far the drug has been
great for me my averages are around 110. And yes I have lost some
weight but not allot. Which make no differance for me because its keep
my BG controlled and under what the ol Doc wants it to be at.

BUt what I have noticed here is how many seem to be disappointed on the
fact they have lost only x amount of pounds on this drug. For me I am
not on this medication to loss weight but to control my BG.

Yeah I work at it, no meals over 30 grams of carbs, low fat, walk about

My doctor told me that some people do better on symlin than byetta with
weight loss. He wanted to switch me to symlin.

Would the airline keep it in a refrigerator for you on the plane? I
could understand not doing so for short trips, but for long overseas
trips I would think that if you had a doctors note they would keep it
cold for you.

My life update

Life Update 7-25-06

Ok, several of you are concerned about me, I appreciate it. Things
have been a little unusual as of late.

Last week, I had to go to the ER, due to excessive hemorrhaging. I
found out that I had my monthly problem elevated by a severe bladder
infection. Well, this stress to my body on top of the stress my body
has with being diabetic, let’s just say, it didn’t add up well.

I am taking my antibiotics and doing better with that at least. Now,
I have to deal with another stressful situation.

Some of you know that I was involved with Lauren. We were together
for 11 months. So it was really serious for awhile. Well, we have

amylin

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005

I’ve been trying to find out something about Amylin after several
comments about it. It seems to be sold as Symlin and is only for
people (types 1 and 2) who are also taking insulin. I’m sorry
Bernstein didn’t have more to say about Byetta, but perhaps he will
when he has observed more people using it?

My biggest problem is that I have now three times forgotten to take
the evening shot before eating something. Well, once we had to eat
and were far from home and I hadn’t realized that this was going to
happen when I left home, but the other two times were stupid.

I wish I could figure out another timing for myself as I never have
problems with breakfast or even lunch. My overeating, over carbing
really( up to perhaps 30 carbs around dinner) happens later in the
day.

Reply from the president of Cooler Concepts re: FRIO for Byetta

Monday, February 21st, 2005

I’m impressed by her exceptionally prompt reply. Sadly, the answer is
as we all suspected.

Dear Debbie:

Thank you for your inquiry. I’m in Chicago & also use Byetta. We share the
paint peeling humidity!
Frio(r) cooling products, used correctly, will maintain an internal temp.
range between 58°-69°F. Amylin Pharmaceuticals states by phone that Byetta
can be carried for a MAXIMUM of 144 hours per month at temperatures under
77°F. I use my Frio(r) to carry Byetta from home to a restaurant, etc., but do
return it to a refrigerator when I return home. It sounds as if you are
taking your Byetta with you daily to work. I encourage you to call Byetta
customer service for storage assistance for Byetta.
Please feel free to contact me directly for any additional assistance.

My doctor doesn’t want to "mess with" byetta

Saturday, February 19th, 2005

Well folks, I went to my doctor and was very adament and direct with
her. I told her what I wanted (Byetta), that I had done my research
and I wanted her to work with me on my treatment. Her reply was that I
seek another doctor and that she didn’t want to "mess with" Byetta.
Finding a new doctor was my intent any how but is now more difficult
without insurance right now…. You would think a place the size of
Portland, Oregon would have a free clinic but I have been unable to
locate one.
Will keep the group posted and want to thank everyone who has been so
supportive!! : )
