Vitamins & Diabetics
Sorry Andrew for the animal stuff, didn’t mean to get off topic.
The first part of my previous post was about vitamins so I’ll get back
to that. I was just wondering about taking vitamins now that I have
diabetes because in the past I’ve not been very good about it. But I
thought maybe I should be now to try and get all my nutrients. Have
any of you ever tried Prevention Diabetic Support MultiNutrient
Tablets? They are by the Prevention magazine people. I saw an
adverstisement in Diabetes Self-Management magazine and then found
them on drugstore.com. Is there a particular multi-vitamin that is
suppose to be good for diabetics or are they even important to take?
I’m new to all of this.

There are a variety of people/places who have recommended vitamins for
diabetics. Dr. Richard K. Bernstein has a recommendation as do several diabetes
sites. Probably a good thing to see what his in the various ones, compare them
with commercially (in the store) formulations and see where you want to go.
Were I going to purchase "diabetic" vitamins I’d probably go with Bernstein’s.

i am not loyal to any particular vitamin, at the
moment i am taking kmarts version on centrum silver
because at the time i bought it, it looked like the
better vitamin compared to the others available. price
was also a consideration. However, the one thing i
look at is vanadium content. vanadium is perported to
help control blood sugar and in my own personal
experience it does. i look for a vitamin with at least
10mg(or mcg, cant remember how it comes). i also take
mine twice a day.

Our doctor told my husband and me to take fish oil capsules twice a day, 2
each time. He said they are very good for the heart and circulatory system and
they lower tryglycerides a lot. Janet
