Question about Byetta -How long does a pen last
Say a 5 pen-
I realize some of this depends on how many injections per day. But ball
park how long does one last and what is the retail cost?
I might be switched to this and I am without insurance right now. I
looked at the cost on a drugstore site but without knowing how long a
pen might last, it wasn’t very helpful.

My 5 pen and my 10 pen each lasted 30 days at 2 shots a day. I think the 10
pen is about $280 for a month’s supply of Byetta but the price may vary at
different pharmacies. Janet

There are links there about patient assistance to get it for free
from the manufacturer

they are supposed to last 30 days if taken twice a
day. most of us get a couple of days extra out of our
pens. the cost is close to $200 give or take a few
dollars. If you go to www.needymeds.com and look up
byetta it will give you a phone number to call. if you
meet their criteria they will send you a card that you
take to the pharmacy that is good for 6 pens. you fill
out a new set of papers for a new card after 6 months

i just found my reciept. the cost for the 10mcg pen is
218.49. i get mine thru their customer care program
though, so it doesn’t cost me anything
