End of pen question
When you reach the end of a pen, does it stop turning? My last one
never did and I am close to the end of this one and while I don’t want
to throw it away and waste any juice left in it, I don’t want to be
shooting blanks, either, lol.
So how do you know if you have reached the very end?
Thanks!

Mary,
My last pen locked up tight as a tick when it reached the end, so I suspect that
is a "yes" for your question. I had other pens in the house, so I tossed the
one that locked up (I try to get everything from them that I can) and got a new
one.
You’ll know if you are shooting blanks - your BG will go up. :^O
Cheers!

the pena are filled to provide 30 doses plus a few "extra" for priming. we
are supposed to record the date we first use the pen and then use only for
30 days. this is not to say that there are a few extra days in the pen but
why risk it? i don’t drain the last drop out of my vials of insulin either.
i probably leave about 10 units in each vial. better safe than sorry imho.

make that 60 doses or 30 days

I use the pen until it locks. It’s usually 31-33 days, and I’ve never
had a problem. Good until the last drop. <g>

Thanks for all the replies. It just locked on me so "The End", lol.
It’s nice to know so that I don’t stop using one before its time is up.
