Endo appointment

Monday, November 22nd, 2004

Hi

I had my 3 months appointment with the endo today. I was so shock to
get good news today.

I have lost a total of 20lbs in the 3 months. And my H1ac went from
8.9 to 6.8 but she wants me under 6.5 by the time i see her in October.

My blood pressure and Clostriol was all in the normal ranges. But she
didnt take me off of any meds. She said she still wants protection
against having a heart attack.

She also once again mention the gastric by pass. And i told her that
is a goal that i have to encourage me to loose the weight on my own
without the surgery. I just keep saying to my self if i dont loose

Happy Fathers Day!

How quickly does byetta work after meals?

Wednesday, November 17th, 2004

I’m interested what the byetta is doing to decrease glucose peaks in terms
of speed of change. I assume most reports of after meals are at the two
hour point. Has anyone done a test at the 1 and 2 hour points to see how
quickly the fall is and to do it with and without byetta?

The interest is if peaks are still somewhat high but fall quickly with
byetta or if the peak is also blunted with a slower fall? All diabetics
suffer from not having enough insulin soon enough to flatten the first
glucose uptake, and thus the peak. This fast response in non diabetics is
called the 1st phase response. If byetta is providing a 1st phase response
then even the peak will be blunted, if not then it will still be highish
but with a rapid fall to get the better post meal numbers being reported.

Thanks in advance

Fwd: [Diabetes_And_Byetta] Strange symptoms

Wednesday, November 17th, 2004

Rebecca,

Is it the time of the month that you usually get your period? It could
be your ovaries and starting your changes. I am in my changes and I
am 53. I do notice though when I lose some weight a certain time of
month my body acts weird. Watch also for appendicitis. My son had
pain across his lower stomach very tender to touch. He did this on
Fathers Day while vacationing in disney world. What a trip that was.
lol They were actually wonderful with their medical care.

He started out with stomach pain across stomach and they were not sure
if it was his appendix. Later on in the afternoon, he could not move
because of the pain. I hope maybe it is just gas. take care.

My first shot of Byetta

Sunday, November 14th, 2004

Well, I took my first shot of Byetta.

I had expected to "feel something" — but it didn’t pinch, it didn’t
burn, it didn’t hurt. I left the needle in and counted to 10. (And
yes, it was really ooky sticking myself — I hope I get used to that)
– but no nausea.

I ate dinner, and had made fruit salad, but was unable to get that
far. I had one actually ONE blueberry. A little spinach, a little
corn, a little fish. And I’m STUFFED. I’m figuring stuffed on what
couldn’t have hit 300 calories — and blood sugar of 97 two hours
after. WOW!

Diabetic Journal # 3

My third Diabetic Journal Rant

Friday June, 16, 2006

Well it’s been since September 1, 2005 since my last diabetic journal
entry. I have had diabetes for over a year.

I still haven’t gotten my sugar levels under control. I have been on
and off the medicine, mainly because of the expense. Last time I went
to the Dr. was in April and I am due back in July. April they raised
my meds and told me to tighten up my diet.

My main problem is that I am still in a major denial over the whole
