Some fresh data from Diabetes in Control Newsletter # 314, 5/31/06

In a Newsletter for Diabetic Physicians and other health professionals it was
reported:

FACT:
Incretins stimulate beta-cell replication: Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1)
and glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP) are in-cretin hormones. A
long-acting GLP-1 derivative, liraglutide, has been developed. In a recent
study,
it was suggested that GLP-1, GIP, and liraglutide may have the potential to
increase beta-cell replication in humans. This would have a signifi-cant impact
on long-term diabetes treatment.

    Hi John,

My acupuncturist/nurse practioner/Chinese herbalist has long recommended at
least 40 ounces of green tea a day. I know when I do drink that much it helps
my bg. I have not been doing as well with it lately. A good reminder for me to
    start brewing it up again.

That’s quite a large amount of tea… I would compare readings with an
equivalent amount of water and see how that goes…
