Temperature regulation
I’ve recently switched to the 10 pen from the five, even though the
five was doing fine. I seem to overall be doing well on the Byetta
and hope the effect lasts for me.
Anyway, we had the first real heat-wave of the year over the Memorial
Day weekend, and I was outside working. I usually sweat like a pig in
>80 degree F weather, and I was merrily working away at 92F not
realizing how hot it was because I wasn’t sweating.
Anyway, I think I did eventually dehydrate myself, but caught it and
took a break at an appropriate time.
I’ve heard that Byetta makes you "cold" (though I’ve not really
noticed this), but never that it keeps you from sweating.. but in my
case it seems to stop me from sweating nearly as much as in the past.
Anyone else notice this, or am I just wacky?

My dear husband and I froze most of the winter - we are usually as warm as a
walrus. This summer we have barely touched the air conditioner. No, I think
you are in good company, Fred.
Cheers!

Hmmm maybe the hotflashes I’m feeling are because me Byetta isn’t working
again. Hehehe. Should be, I’m spending enough time with MY lizard, Green
iguana, Doob.

i found i am not tolerating the heat at all. i was out
a couple of times doing stuff and i got all weak and
dizzy feeling. kinda like my sugar had dropped. not
normal reaction for me either

Byetta makes me cold when it drops my sugar down below a certain point,
like around 60. Then when I get down in the 40’s I get the hot flashes
that normally come from being low. It is weird. I haven’t really noticed
not sweating though I can’t remember the last time I really broke out in
a sweat. I’ve been cold more than hot since being on Byetta. It is hot
today but I didn’t take my Byetta yet. I overslept and I’m going to wait
until supper to take it. In general, I’ve noticed that my body
temperature has been off ever since I became diabetic. I was always too
hot until the Byetta.
Blessings,
Karen

The weight loss has done wonders for my temp tolerance this year. I am
taking the week off and am getting work done on the vehicles and yard and
house and it’s been 97 here and we haven’t turned the AC on yet (the wife is
complaining loudly, but I don’t care). A couple of years ago I would have
been sitting in my undies in front of a fan in the AC (yeh, let that picture
settle in slowly.). I’m in MUCH better shape without the extra blubber
insulation. I am *SO* enjoying the convertible Mustang and VSTAR bike this
year.
.and I’d got with "wacky", btw.

I sometimes break out in a sweat, approx 2 hrs after Byettaing (Is that
a new word? LOL) or taking supplements. I forgot to take my Calcium
D’Glucurate camping a week ago, and the sweating subsided a lot. My ND
is switching me over to red yeast with CoQ10 in place of the CDG, so
hopefully that will help with the cholesterol.
I tried to correlate it with lower blood glucose, but I’m not sure about
that, either. Maybe it’s when it’s heading low, and not actually being low.
As for sweating in general: I find I don’t sweat a lot while exercising
these days. But then it doesn’t take much of an effort for me to walk or
hike, thanks to Byetta, weight loss, and the mag/B12 shots I get each
month. I used to have a lot of muscle pain with exercise, so the mag
shots take care of that nicely.
I also love the sun more than I did before the spit. I actually crave
it. LOL

What kind of oral presentation topic would that be?
Carls comment reminded me of the commercial, sierra mist I think, with the
dog sitting in front of the AC box with his legs spread and laying on his
back. I laugh everytime.
