1st Dose Update

Franks comments were…I see better, I feel a little nauseous…but doesn’t need
anything for it and a biggy …he’s not hungry !!!!!, he ate before he left and
he’s due for a snack and I was upset about this…. the tester is in the
truck…he took my jeep. He has a tester in all his trucks…he always has one
with him…
(Franks daughter is getting married tomorrow and he had to go to rehearsal..but
he was sent with pepto tabs and glucose tabs.)

He feels good.

Waiting for him to come home to get test read.

(What do you call that in this group? Blood sugar level? Test read?
Abbreviations? I’m not up on correct term)

Well, the last couple days have been interesting to say the least! Sleep?
Whats that! Seem to be waking up all the time.
My husband went in for lithotripsy on his kidney stones and they’re finally
    getting peed out! Yeahh! Lol
Thursday was a mess because of 9 hours in the hospital though. Forgot to
eat. Sugars went high (go figure). Now I’m babysitting lol. Well it was a
    very hard surgery.
Now today, took my morning pills about 10 for breakfast, and my 10 Byetta.
Or thought I did. Saw the pills on my napkin and went oh shoot, I forgot to
    take them…….
Then dinner around 7 and went to look for my last dose I’d had in my weekly
pill case (I knew this because I knew I had to refill them after dinner). It
was then I remembered I’d taken them out and, yes, you guessed it, put them
    on the napkin for dinner.
So I’d taken 4 metformin in the morning. My bg was 66 before dinner, I had

wondered about that haha. I figured I’d better take at least ONE metformin
for dinner. Pizza (yeah yeah yeah) tonys. 2 hours later it is 99 bg!
Wondering if I should change my pills around hahhaha.

I wash everything on the gentle cycle.
    It’s much more humane.

Or just "BG" for blood glucose. :)

Glad to hear that your hubby is doing better. Kidney stones are soooo painful.
I’ve only had them once and that was enough, although I did not have them as bad
    as many folk do.

Forgetting to eat does not generally make my BG run high, but sometimes it does.

Don’tcha hate it when you leave meds at home? I have taken the byetta with me
and forgotten the needle. Oy vey. I got through that by eating an almost
    no-carb dinner.

Maybe I should take all my metformin at night…since it is when my BG gets the
    highest. :)
    Cheers!

    Hi,

I take Glucophage XR and do take it all at night- 1500 mg. It’s
supposed to help with Dawn Effect taken that way. It is somewhat
effective for me. A glass of wine before sleep does more.

I took my meter to do a 2 hour Byetta check since I’m in my first two
weeks and my doctor asked me to do this, and forgot the strips.
    Grrrr. Hate when that happens.

If I don’t eat as soon as I get up, my BG goes high. For the rest of
the day I’m ok. Byetta seems to help that.

You might also want to check at 3 or 4 hours since many of us see the highest
numbers occurring then. Of course, that’s when you remember the strips. What
I forgot one time was the lancet! It’s pretty hard to get blood without it!

Polly, same here. i am not a breakfast person but i
eat when i get up to take my byetta and tht brings my
sugar down. i also take my glucovance and insulin at
    night

  7. Neva Marjory Says:

LOL! Good point. Blood without a lancet would be pretty tough. I’ve
been checking at 4 hours too to be able to figure out if I ate too many
carbs, and it’s been pretty good. 2 hours was 80 today and 4 hours was
    94. I haven’t gone over 115 at a 4 hour check yet but I’m averaging
    about 15 g. carbs a meal.

You could use your byetta needle in a pinch.. If you brought it :-) Rebecca
