all right. If not, let me know and I’ll remove it immediately.

After reading my literature, and watching the video, I was in full
understanding that I must not reuse a needle. Today I went in to see
the nurse for my doctor, to show me how to use my pen - and she said
you can reuse them, just leave it on. I was a little shocked.. This
can lead to fluid leaking, the needle breaking, bubbles getting inside
the medicine, and worse of all, infection.. Why would I want to keep
the needle on for another use? I realize, and despise that the
needles cost an arm and a leg, but I am one of those people who
listens to my doctor - but it wasn’t my doctor… it was his nurse.
What is your take on this?
Does anyone here reuse their needles?
Thanks for input!

The reason the folk who have surgery and have their diabetes reversed is
because the methods used prompt a great boost in their own glp-1, which
byetta mimics. Not all who have surgery have the outcome, it is mostly
those who have some form of bypass where the food is introduced lower into
the gut system where it prompts the greater then normal glp-1 production
from the cells there that produce it.
I would not cease using byetta after weight loss. In all diabetics, even
type 1, glp-1 and another similar hormone have their production out of
wack. But the most compelling reason is that byetta and glp-1 protect beta
cells and there is great reason to think that at higher levels then a
diabetic produces it can produce greater amounts of beta cell mass by
prompting greater growth to overcome a diabetics greater loss.
Diabetes is in one sense a race between existing beta cells and the rate at

I’m new to the board and excited to find others using Byetta in hopes
of finding some answers.
(1) I switched to the 10mcg dose about 3 weeks ago. I’ve been on
Byetta for a total of almost 3 months. My A1C has gone down from 5.7
to 5.4, I initially lost 9 lbs during this period, but have gained 3
lbs. since I switched to the 10mcg dose. Anyone else experience
this? Nothing else has changed.
(2) I will be traveling in a couple of weeks on business. First time
I’ve traveled since being diagnosed with diabetes and using Byetta. I
will be flying to a different state and then traveling to 3 different
cities for meetings over 3 different days. I am concerned about
keeping the byetta refridgerated during the meetings until I get to
the hotel each evening. Also, 1 hotel does not have a fridge.

Hey guys,
I just thought I’d let you hear some good news. I’ve got PCOS and think I’ve
had Syndrome X since I was a kid, I know well way before they diagnosed it.
I started on Byetta 1-20-06 and I had a really hard time with it.
When I start the 5 mg I was nauseous the first 3 weeks. After the first
month I started the 10 mg and let me tell you, it was awful. I felt like I had
a serious case of the flu and it lasted 3 hours after each shot. So, I did
what I always do, I quit taking it for a 2 weeks before I told my Doctor.
When I did, he put me back on the 5 mg, and within a few days I was fine
with no problems. Then about 2 weeks later I started get dizzy spells, after
about 2 weeks I told my doctor, she said it was blood pressure. My BP meds
were to high.
