Jodi, I don’t know what to tell you about the byetta, but I’m sorry to
hear about your dog. We had to put our first border collie to sleep in
1998. He was 16 and had a good life - brought us lots of joy. Here’s

Do not take your Byetta unless your going to eat. Apparently our
stomachs can’t handle it unless food gets in there too, from what I
understand?
So I would either not take it, and not eat, or I would have alteast
some small meal in the morning, or the middle of the day, so I can
take atleast one dose of Byetta. I think the latter is healthier for you.
I am sorry to hear about your dog, I know they are like family, I have
a little blonde lhasa apso that is our pride and joy - no kids.

Jodi,
I’m so sorry to hear about your dog. I have had to do that several times and
I miss every one of them. Our animals are such a joy in our lives, even in
our memories.
Our bodies can handle Byetta without food, but it doesn’t affect our blood
sugars unless we eat something or unless our blood sugar is already pretty
high. Otherwise, our bodies just get rid of it, so Kristen’s right, if
you’re not going to eat then there isn’t really a reason to take it. If you
think you probably will eat go ahead and take it as usual and if you end up
not eating, or not eating much, don’t worry about it, it shouldn’t cause you
any problems. (But watch for signs of hypoglycemia anyway, just in case.)
Again, my sympathies to you. Hug your other dog(s) and try to get some
comfort from them, they will be missing your lab too.
Debbie

thank you to all who expressed sympathies for the loss of my beloved snoopy.
my neighbor’s who are the original owners of snoop are in the burial
business so we had a really nice service for snoop when i got back from the
vet. she is buried under the walnut tree and a large statue of St Francis
was placed at the head of her grave.
i took the byetta at 11:15 and with only coffee this morning, i went from
117 to 149. undoubtedly, the stress of going to the vet and all. my husband
said i had to eat so i made snoopy’s favorite breakfast of scrambled egg and
fried ham. i ate about half of it.
talk to you all soon!

If I don’t eat shortly after injecting, I get Lizard Stomach real bad.I keep
the pink stuff on the home and office desks to combat the green.
