pen vs
is there a reason that byetta doesn’t come in a vial? i hated pens when i
used them for insulin and don’t think much of this pen.
also, my dr gave me 3 refills on the 5 pen script. don’t i go to 10 when
this one’s done?

From what I read, byetta is packaged in pens as a marketing strategy. They
figured people who weren’t used to using vials and syringes would find it less
threatening to use a pen. So dollars are the reason for the packaging. Pat in

i believe it is because the dose is so small that it
would be difficult to draw up in a standard insulin

I will hopefully be getting my 5th 5 pen today… though I am trying to get my
PA to bump me up to 10, as well as bump up my metformin, as I my does is far
below what’s recommended. I only take 500mg extended release twice a day. And,
with my schedule the way it is, I eat sometimes 5 times a day in amounts that
are too big for snacks, and I would consider doing 5 mcg 3x a day. I have to go
in to see her in a few weeks and will broach the subject again.
